We learn little from watching someone dispense conclusions. Information is not transformation. In our experience, growth happens when truth is lived in front of us, when we are drawn into a shared life. Jesus didn’t instruct from a podium or demand belief in doctrines. He asked people to come and see, to follow him, to live with him. He moved through the world in presence—praying, teaching, resting, healing—and expected others to pay attention. That’s how we learn. Watching, struggling, stumbling forward. Rather, he introduces them to a lifestyle and the only way he can do that is to invite them to live with him. That’s how wisdom takes root. Faith is not the absence of doubt but remaining in relationship through it. Jesus did that. So must we. We don’t need answers handed to us—we need lives we can walk alongside.
May we walk alongside the One who invites us into a shared life, where wisdom is lived, not taught.
