Rules once gave us structure, a sense of order, even pride. We measured our worth by how well we obeyed, believing morality was the essence of faith. But over time, the hollowness became hard to ignore. Doing the right things didn’t lead to fullness—it led to pressure, isolation, and fear. The law served a purpose, but it could not sustain us. Something deeper began to stir. Not a command, not a checklist—something alive. Your rules have boxed you in, and they have boxed me out. As that awareness grew, a shift happened. We began to sense that this life wasn’t about earning God, but being in God. Relationship, not performance, brought us peace. Love—not fear—was the true presence. This is what grounds us now. Not rules, but real union.
May we let go of the walls we built with rules and open ourselves to the presence that has always sought to dwell within us.
